Rebecca Lee Crumpler: A Historical Trailblazer

Source: Black American Web

In 1864 Rebecca Lee Crumpler became the first Black American female physician in the United States. Throughout her life, she broke racial and gender barriers, advocated for minority groups, and changed the face of medicine as we know it. She showed women across the globe the importance of believing in yourself. Crumpler’s story has been forgotten in history and for these reasons, needs to be told around the world.
